My parent’s so graciously bought us ticket to Taiwan for the National Holiday out of the blue a week and a half before the break. Ramon and I were so excited to go and for him to see all the converts he baptized in Taiwan and to show me around everywhere!
Because we booked the tickets so much later, we ended up flying to Guiyang( which is the airport in the picture) having a 4 hour lay over which consisted of watching our new favorite show Revenge, and getting foot massages and KFC after all that fun then we flew from there to Taoyuan, Taiwan. We got in super late that night, took the bullet train to Taichung got to the hotel at 11 and crashed. The next day was church! Ramon and I visited his old ward in Daya not to far from where we were staying.
When Ramon was there they announced that they would be building a new chapel….the picture on the left is it and now it will be done next year! How awesome is that:) We saw tons of families that Ramon knew from the Branch and also got to see a couple of the people he baptized still coming to church each Sunday. It really touched me but also Ramon because he knew that at least all the hard work he did paid off and that the seed he planted within them has grown and flourished.
Knowing it’s sunday and not having a kitchen we headed out from some all time favorites from Ramon’s mission years in Taichung area and in Daya. We ate rice curry with a fried egg on top with was so good even if the curry on top looks like something else 😉 And of course Ramon was able to get his Papaya Milk and his famous bread that I heard about in Beijing, as he searched for it there.
After lunch and being tired from traveling and getting up early the next morning. We decided after church to go back to the hotel and relax… Ramon fell asleep and lets just say he looks like he is practicing his model poses or something…yes I know I look creepy in the picture:)
